How do I apply for a North Carolina duplicate license to replace a stolen drivers license or lost license? North Carolina
Ordering a Duplicate License in North Carolina
If you have a lost drivers license, you can order a duplicate license online from the NC DMV. To do so, you must:
- Have your drivers license number and date of birth.
- Have a driver license issued after October 1996.
- Have a valid Social Security number or other government ID number on file with the North Carolina DMV.
- Have a working e-mail address.
- Have a DMV-assigned PIN. If you don’t have a PIN, you can request one on the DMV website by clicking a link.
- Be ready to pay $10 with Visa or Mastercard.
The new drivers license will be mailed to you within 10 days.
If you're missing any of this info, then make an appointment at a local DMV and head in with another form of ID to get a new duplicate drivers license, so they can look up your info for you.
