What is the PA renew license fee? Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Drivers License Renewal

License renewal fees vary a bit depending on your circumstance. Common renewals include:

  • Four-year drivers license renewal: $28
  • Four-year drivers license renewal with motorcycle endorsement: $48
  • Two-year drivers license renewal for seniors over 65: $17.50
  • Two-year drivers license renewal with motorcycle endorsement for seniors older than 65: $27.50
When your PA driver license is up for renewal, you should receive a letter from PennDOT in the mail three months before the expiration date. Follow the instructions to complete the form and make a payment, and wait seven to 10 business days for a camera card. PennDOT mails you this card, which you bring to an approved Photo Center along with two forms of identification. See the PennDOT Web site for acceptable forms of ID.

Expired License Penalties

If you are caught driving the roads of Pennsylvania on an expired license, expect a traffic ticket and fine. PennDOT provides a couple of renew license methods, including online renewal, which makes it easy to quickly update your license before it expires.
