Can I take my drivers license test in Vietnamese?

Vietnamese Driver License Tests by State

Vietnamese drivers license tests are offered in 18 of the 50 U.S. states. If you would like to take your drivers license test in Vietnamese, you can consult the grid below to see if your state offers the test in Vietnamese.

Be aware, however, that even if your state offers the license test in Vietnamese, the road signs portion of the test is likely to be English. The reason for this is that signs on road are written in English, meaning that at least basic knowledge of the English language is required of all drivers license applicants. Contact your DMV for details.

Take a Practice Test

If your state doesn’t offer one, you can find practice test versions of drivers licenses tests in Vietnamese from a variety of independent drivers education companies throughout the country.

Remember, even if you find practice tests in Vietnamese, you should still practice the road signs portion in English.

Enroll in Drivers Education

Taking a driver training course is an excellent way to become familiar with road signs if you aren’t already. If you are interested in taking a driver training course, consider doing so with the help of an English-Vietnamese interpreter.
