FL Title Transfer Requirements for Used Cars

  1. Obtain a bill of sale (or some type of sales receipt) from the seller.
  2. Get the signed, completed title from the seller.
  3. Complete a title application form.
  4. Find your proof of insurance card or other proof of financial responsibility.
  5. Have a vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection completed (only for out-of-state used vehicles).
  6. Bring all the documents to a tax collector office or license plate agency.
  7. Pay the $75.25 title fee  ($85.25 for out-of-state vehicles).
