It's fairly easy to replace a stolen, damaged, or lost title in Florida; but, it is costly.

FL Duplicate Title Procedures

  1. Complete title Form HSMV 82101.
  2. Find acceptable proof of identity (such as a driver's license or state ID card).
  3. Provide proof of lien satisfaction (if this is applicable to your situation).
  4. Take all of the above to a tax collector office or license plate agency.
  5. Pay the $75.25 duplicate title fee.

When applying for a Florida vehicle title, be sure to provide a bill or sale or sales receipt.

Additional Costs

Depending on your situation, you might have to pay additional costs associated with titles.

For example, if you need a paper car title, it costs an extra $2.50. A fast title transfer costs an additional $10.
