Visit any Illinois Secretary of State (SOS) office and complete an Application for Vehicle Transaction(s) (Form VSD 190). This form cannot be downloaded. Have a check, money order or credit card (American Express, MasterCard, Discover, Visa) to pay $20 vehicle registration sticker replacement fee. If you need both a license plateand a sticker, the fee jumps to $26.

Don't procrastinate. Order a replacement car registration sticker as soon as you discover it missing. If you're caught driving without a sticker on your rear license plate, you could be ticketed and fined, regardless of the cause.
