How many chances do I get to pass the GA CDL test? Georgia
Passing the Georgia CDL Test
To become a CDL driver you must pass two parts of the CDL test: a general knowledge written test and a driving test. Given the time and money involved in taking an exam, it's in your best interest to pass on your first attempt. But, if you don't, no worries; you'll be able to retest.CDL Knowledge Test
If you fail, you can retake the test as many times as needed. The only hitch is that you must pay a $10 permit fee before every test attempt.
To study for this test, grab a GA CDL manual. You can find these for free at any DDS office, or you can download one from the DDS website. Everything you need to know to pass the test is in the manual.
In between studying and taking the actual written exam, take at least one CDL practice test. You can find CDL practice exams online and take as many as needed.
CDL Skills Test
If you fail the skills test, you're eligible to try again, but you must wait a designated period of time that depends on the test attempt:
- First failure: One day.
- Second failure: One week.
- Third failure: 30 days.
- Fourth failure: You must reapply, submitting a new application for the CDL class you want and paying $50 test fee.
The skill test consists of three parts: pre trip inspection, basic skills, and the driving test. You must make an appointment road test. When you pass you'll receive your Georgia commercial license.
