What are the different Massachusetts commercial licenses by CDL Class? Massachusetts
No matter which state you live in, each CDL class is the same. That's because the federal government sets these classifications, and not the states.
Commercial License Class Standards
- Class A: Needed to drive trucks or truck combinations weighing more than 26,000 pounds and towing a vehicle/unit weighing more than 10,000 pounds.
- Class B: Needed to drive straight trucks and buses weighing more than 26,000 pounds.
- Class C: Needed to drive vehicles designed to transport more than 15 persons (including the driver) and having a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of fewer than 26,001 pounds. It's also required to drive vehicles transporting placarded amounts of hazardous materials.
CDL Practice Test: A Good Way to Prepare
Before you become a CDL driver, you'll need to pass at least one written CDL test - maybe even several for your situation. Many current drivers have used CDL practice tests to help them prepare. After all, you'll need to know a tremendous amount of detailed information, and these tests can help sort of everything out for you while reinforcing the required knowledge. When You Need a CDL Appointment
You don't need an appointment for your Massachusetts written test. But, you must make one for your road test or driving test. Just call the MA RMV at (617) 351-4500 or (800) 858-3926 to set your CDL test appointment after you've received your CDL permit.Post Comment for "What are the different Massachusetts commercial licenses by CDL Class?"
