48 of the 50 U.S. states require you to register your personal watercraft with the DMV or another state agency that handles boat registration. The only exceptions are Alaska, where the arctic weather hardly accommodates Sea Doo vehicles, and Maryland, where registration is not required for watercraft fewer than 16 feet.

Jet Ski Registration Fees

Just like with regular vehicle registration, the fees for jet ski registration vary by state, and often depend on the size of the watercraft. The fees indicated in the following grid pertain to vehicles fewer than 16 feet, unless otherwise specified. For exact fees, contact your local DMV office.
