Florida Drivers License Renewal Options

If you know how to renew your class E drivers license, this will be easy; you'll renew your motorcycle license in the same manner.

Florida offers four ways to renew your motorcycle license: online, by mail, over the phone, and in person. Not all options may be available to you; however, you can always renew your motorcycle license at a driver license office.

Online

Just visit the GoRenew page on the FL DHSMV site, follow the instructions, and pay the $48 fee for motorcycles.

Mail

Fill out the necessary information on your renewal registration form and mail it, with your payment, to the address provided.

Phone

Call (850) 617-2000, follow the renewal instructions, and pay your license renewal fee.

In Person

Go to a driver's license office and bring the following:

  • Proof of identification (example: motorcycle license or birth certificate).
  • Proof of residential address (example: utility bill or mortgage bill).
  • Proof of your Social Security number (example: Social Security card or W-2 form).
Then, pay your renew license fee.

Important License Renewal Notes

There's no grace period with Florida drivers licenses, so if you don't renew on time you could be hit with a traffic ticket and fine. Plus, there's a $15 delinquent license renewal fee.

Also, be sure to keep your motorcycle riding skills sharp by periodically refreshing them with a motorcycle safety class.
