Obtaining Your FL Motorcycle Driver License

Your first step should be to pick up a copy of the Florida motorcycle license handbook - and then study it well.

Why? Because this booklet is jammed with the information you'll need to know to pass the written motorcycle test, which is the next step of the process and earns you your motorcycle permit.

Taking practice test is a smart way to prepare for the written motorcycle drivers license test. These types of tests are available through many sources, and do a good job of showing you how much more studying (if any) you should do.

If you pass the test and pay the $54.25 permit fee, you'll be granted your motorcycle learners permit. You must hold the drivers permit for 12 months before applying for your motorcycle license.

During that period, you must pass a FL-approved motorcycle safety class; there are no exceptions to this requirement. This driver training/drivers ed class will teach you the proper motorcycle riding techniques, and prepare you for the upcoming road test.
