If you're younger than 18 with a motorcycle-only permit, you must:

  • Have a learner's license for at least 12 months before attempting to obtain your motorcycle license.
  • Successfully complete an approved motorcycle safety course (i.e., motorcycle driver training or drivers ed) in which you develop your motorcycle riding skills.
If you're 18 or older with a motorcycle-only permit, you must:

  • Successfully complete an approved motorcycle safety course (i.e., motorcycle driver training or drivers ed).

Obtaining Your Florida Motorcycle Driver License

After you've completed your requirements, you must pass a motorcycle road test or driving test in order to gain your Florida motorcycle license. Of course, to get your motorcycle permit, you'll need to pass a written motorcycle test. Taking a practice test is a good way to prepare for this challenge.
