Motorcycle License Renewal in Georgia

The DDS will mail you a renew license notice about 60 days before the expiration date of your motorcycle license. To make it easy for you, the DDS gives you three license renewal options: in person (at the same GA DDS facilities that handle other driver license services), online, or by mail.

In Person

Visit any DDS location that handles drivers license renewal services with:

  • Either your expiring motorcycle license or proof of identity.
  • Official documentation proving any name change.
  • Cash or a check, money order, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) to pay the $20 renewal fee for a five-year license or the $35 renewal fee for a 10-year license.
Your new drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement should arrive in the mail within four weeks. If you've moved since your last license, make sure the DDS has your new mailing address.

Online

You cannot use this option if:

  • You did not receive a renewal notice.
  • Your license has expired.
Here's what to do:

  1. Complete the online application found on the DDS's website. You will need the Resident Identification Number (RIN) located on your renewal form.
  2. Pay the renewal fee ($15 for a five-year license, $30 for a 10-year license) with a credit card (American Express, Discover, Visa, MasterCard).
You'll receive a $5 discount for renewing online. Your new license should arrive in the mail within 30 days.

Mail

To use the mail-in motorcycle license renewal option, follow these steps:

  1. Complete license renewal form.
  2. Write a check for either the $15 renewal fee (for a five-year driver license) or the $30 renewal fee (for a 10-year license).
  3. Submit the form and payment to:

Department of Driver Services
P.O. Box 80447
Conyers, GA 30013

Your new Class M drivers license should arrive in the mail in about 30 days.

Avoid an Expired Motorcycle License

Motorcycles offer a lot of freedom, but only with a valid license. Be sure to renew your motorcycle license before it expires. Getting caught motorcycle riding without a valid license could lead to a citation and significant fine.
