  • Five-year motorcycle license renewal (in person): $20

Applying for a Motorcycle License

Your specific situation will affect the total fees you end up paying.

For example, applying for a motorcycle permit (Class MP) is your choice. The DDS does not require it to obtain a motorcycle license (Class M), although, without it you won't be able to make a motorcycle license test appointment.

A motorcycle safety course is also optional, though recommended. Successful completion of a safety program will earn you a Class M endorsement on your driver license for operating motorcycles without having to take the written and road tests.

If you must take the motorcycle test, be sure to study Georgia's motorcycle manual and to take at least one practice test. You can find these online, and they feature questions similar to those found on the actual exam. Take as many practice tests as needed until you feel confident of passing the actual exam.
