Renewing Your NJ Motorcycle License

The NJ MVC will mail you a motorcycle drivers license renewal notice about three months prior to your license's expiration date. You can only renew in person at a New Jersey MVC driver license office.

When you arrive have with you:

  • Your current motorcycle drivers license.
  • Enough identification to meet the state's 6 Point ID Verification requirements.
  • Cash or a check, money order, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) to pay $24 renew license fee.
Upon completing you'll receive an updated motorcycle license.

Keep Your Motorcycle Riding Legal

Be sure take care of your license renewal on time. Operating motorcycles without a valid license could result in hefty fines. Plus, if you allow your license to remain expired for an extended period of time, you may have to retest again. This means taking and passing the knowledge and road tests.
