After you turn 15 and a half years old you can apply to receive your California (CA) motorcycle permit. Visit a CA Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) service center to apply for the motorcycle riding permit.

Bring your parents or legal guardians with you to the DMV office if you are younger than 18 years. Your parents or legal guardians will sign the back of the application. Also bring a copy of your motorcycle insurance policy to the DMV office.
