- Wear the proper protective clothing, eye protection, and other appropriate safety gear.
- Use a federally approved motorcycle helmet. If you're having trouble selecting a helmet, check the Department of Transportation website for requirements.
- Practice defensive driving; assume other drivers can't see you.
- Find a cycle that fits your size and riding needs.
- Think ahead and always have an escape route.
- Brake before a turn and accelerate through it.
- Keep your feet properly positioned.
- Focus your gaze down the road and through the turn.
- Always carry your motorcycle license.
Remember, the more knowledge you absorb and the more training you take, the more likely you'll be able to avoid severe accidents and experience many years of motorcycle riding enjoyment.
