Replacing Your Boating Safety Education Identification Card

Florida doesn't actually have a boat license. So, you can't replace a lost license or get a duplicate license, per se.

However, the state does have something somewhat similar to a boaters license: the Boating Safety Education Identification Card.

To order a duplicate ID card, send a letter containing your name, address, phone number, and date of birth, along with proof of your course completion to:

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC)
Division of Law Enforcement
Boating Safety Section
620 South Meridian St.
Tallahassee, FL  32399

Boater Safety Course

To obtain your initial Boating Safety Education Identification Card, you must complete a boating safety course. You can take the boat safety course through the state or an approved third-party provider.

For a list of class providers or to learn more about the boat safety card, visit the FWC site or call (850) 488-4676.
