GA ID Card Fees

To order, renew, or replace a Georgia identification card you will need to visit a DDS office and pay one of the following ID card fees:

  • Five-year state ID: $20
  • Ten-year state ID: $35
  • Five-year state ID renewal: $20
  • Ten-year state ID renewal: $35
  • Duplicate state ID fee: $5
The GA DDS accepts cash or a check, money order, or credit card (Discover, American Express, MasterCard, Visa) as acceptable fee payment.

Children, teens, adults – lots of folks need ID at some point, and state ID cards are available to all Georgia residents regardless of age. As long as you're old enough to sign your name you're eligible for an identification card.

The ID card is a handy form of identification. With it you can cash checks, purchase alcohol (if applicable, i.e. not a child or teen!) and use for airline check in. Even if you own a Georgia drivers license you can still hold a state ID card.
