Illinois State ID Fees

Identification card fees are as follows:

  • Under 65 ID card (children and teens younger than 18): $10
  • Under 65 ID card renewal (children and teens younger than 18): $10
  • Under 65 ID card replacement (children and teens younger than 18): $10
  • Under 65 ID card (18 or older): $20
  • Under 65 ID card renewal (18 or older): $20
  • Under 65 ID card replacement (18 or older): $20
  • Senior ID card: Free
  • Handicapped ID card: Free

ID Card Benefits

Whether you’re a teen or an adult, owning an identification card brings benefits. With it you can enjoy new freedoms like opening a bank account, applying for a passport application, or registering to vote.  

Applying is easy. Visit any IL driver services facility with:

  • Proper ID. To satisfy state identification requirements you must provide proof of signature, which may include a canceled check within the last 90 days, a driver education certificate, or a major credit card. In addition, you must also provide either proof of your Social Security number, date of birth, or Illinois residency.
  • Cash or a check, money order, or check to pay the state ID fee.
