To run a drivers license check you need to order a driving record. It's an easy process that takes but minutes to order. Many state DMV Web sites offer driving records. Washington's, for example, gives you the option of ordering online, by mail, or in person and offers a wide range of driving records for specific circumstances like a three-year commercial insurance abstract or a school bus driver record. To find these pages on a DMV Web site, just type in "Check Drivers License Status" in the search box and it will direct you to the proper location.

You may also order from one of a number of independent Web sites specializing in driving records. All charge, including DMV Web sites, a small fee that can be paid using a credit card.

A driving record is a convenient means of checking the current status of your license. On it - besides the basic information like name, date of birth and address - you'll find convictions, violations, collisions, suspensions, revocations, disqualifications and points information.
