Obtaining a FL Car Dealer Handbook

That's a good question.

The Florida car dealer handbook was never readily available, but the situation is a bit worse now. According to the DHSMV, a new car dealer handbook is being implemented. This means you can no longer download the dealer license handbook from the DHSMV site - at least, not until a new manual becomes available.

Additionally, the car dealers handbook isn't available at DMV regional offices, either.

So, your best (and perhaps only) option is to visit the Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association (FIADA) site, and order a disc containing the manual for $35. If you're a FIADA member, you'll pay $25. Again, this will be for a disk - not a hard copy of the dealer license handbook.

Why Get a FL Auto Dealers Handbook?

This lengthy publication contains all sorts of useful information for both dealer applicants and licensed dealers of new cars and used cars. So, it's more of a reference piece.

For prospective dealers, the manual provides important details about the application process. For licensed dealers, the handbook offers detailed information regarding auto sales procedures and issues that often arise during the daily operations of running a dealership.

Need More Information?

Try contacting a DMV regional office for additional information about the dealers license handbook and car sales regulations in general. Or, either call the FIADA at (800) 237-0448 or visit their site.
