What are the fees for a car salesperson license in New Jersey? New Jersey
No New Jersey Salesperson Fees
You do not have to pay a sales person fee in order to conduct auto sales. In fact, you don't even need a license. Unlike other states, New Jersey does not mandate a salesperson license for anyone looking to make a living selling new cars or used cars. This does not mean, however, that if you're a car dealer you won't face oversight by the NJ MVC. Your car dealers license could be revoked or suspended if you're found non-compliant with any of the following regulations:
- Misuse of dealer plates (can't be used for hire or commercial designed vehicles).
- Failure to possess vehicle titles.
- Misuse of re-assignment certificates.
- Misuse of temporary registration certificates.
- Failure to maintain records or ledgers at your dealer location.
- Auto sales from other non-licensed locations.
