Renewing or Replacing a Nevada Learners Permit

The Nevada (NV) drivers permit is good for one year. Should you lose the driving permit or need to practice driving longer, visit the nearest Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office. NV teens must obtain a permit before they get their drivers license.

Bring your parents or legal guardians with you to the DMV office if you younger than 18 years old. Your parents or legal guardians will complete and sign the "Minor Affidavit and Information Sheet," giving their permission for you to drive in MV.

Renew or replace driving permits before they have expired for 30 or more days. If you let your NV learners permit expire for more than 30 days, you will need to study the practice permit test again in order to pass the written examination. If you let the permit expire for one year or more, you will have to provide proof of United States citizenship and proof that you live in NV.

If the learners permit has expired for more than 30 days, it cost $25 to renew the permit.  It cost $22 to replace your learners permit.
