Replace OH Drivers Permit

  1. Visit a BMV deputy registrar office.
  2. Bring enough acceptable documentation to provide proof of date of birth, full name, residency, legal presence, and Social Security number (if you have one).
  3. Bring a parent or legal guardian with you (if you're younger than 18).
  4. Pay the $22 duplicate learners permit fee.

Renew OH Drivers Permit

Ohio driving permits are valid for 12 months. Once they expire, they can't be renewed. Instead, you'll need to go through the same process to get another drivers permit. In other words, start over. And, pay the $22 fee again, too.

If you have to go this route, rather than apply for your drivers license, you may want to take a practice permit test to help you pass the knowledge test necessary to get your permit.
