What restrictions apply to new and teen drivers with a UT drivers license? Utah

New Driver Checklist
If you're younger than 18 years old, you must abide by the following drivers permit conditions.

UT Learners Permit Restrictions

You may only drive with a licensed parent or legal guardian, driving instructor, or another adult who signed the driving permit application sitting in the seat beside you.

While you may have other passengers in the vehicle, you must always have your permit with you when driving.

You must wait to take your road test until you've held your permit for six months or until you turn 18, whichever happens first.

If you keep your permit once you've turned 18, the restrictions ease a bit. You may drive with any licensed driver who is 21 or older sitting next to you.
