What restrictions apply to new and teen drivers with a VA drivers license? Virginia

New Driver Checklist
When you get your learners permit, you'll need to adhere to the following driving restrictions.

VA Drivers Permit Rules

You may drive with a currently licensed driver who is at least 18 years old and your legal guardian, brother, sister, half-brother, half-sister, step-brother, or step-sister. Or, you may drive with another currently licensed driver who is at least 21.

The supervising driver must be able to help you drive or assist you whenever needed.

These restrictions help teens by giving them the support they need to develop their driving skills while they have their driving permit.

Other Learners Permit/Drivers License Matters
