Drivers Permit and License Restrictions for Washington Teens
If you're a teen who is younger than 18 years old you'll be required to abide by the following driver license restrictions:- For the first six months of holding your drivers license, no passengers younger than 20 can ride with you unless they're immediate family.
- For the second six months of holding your drivers license, you cannot carry more than three passengers younger than 20 unless they're immediate family.
- For the first 12 months, no driving between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. unless you're accompanied by another licensed driver who is 25 or older. This restriction is waived if you must drive for agricultural job purposes under the direction of a farmer.
- No use of wireless devices while driving. This includes talking on a cell phone and receiving or sending text messages. This restriction is waived only in emergency situations.
- You're caught violating any of your license restrictions.
- You're caught violating any rules of the road.
- If you're involved in a car accident.
Learners Permit Restrictions
