Idaho Driver License Fees

The ID DMV charges the following driver license fees:

  • Driver Training Permit: $15
  • Supervised Instruction Permit (SIP): $15
  • Knowledge Test: $3
  • Skills/Driving Test: $24
Once you’re ready for your full Class D drivers license, you’ll pay a fee based on your age and how long the license will be valid:

  • Three-Year License (Ages 18-21): $25
  • One-Year License (Age 20): $15
  • Four-year License (Ages 21 and Older): $30
  • Eight-Year License (Ages 21-62): $55
NOTE: All duplicate and retest fees are the same as the original fees. For example, if you need to replace your instruction permit, you’ll pay $15. If you need to retake your knowledge test, you’ll pay $3.
