Choose an Approved School

If you’re choosing a traffic school in order to remove a citation from your driving record, you should first check with the court or the DMV to find out which traffic schools are approved. Then decide whether you’d prefer:

• An in-person traffic school
• An online traffic school.

Some schools require you to appear in-person, while other schools allow for online training and testing.  Also search around to see what traffic schools other people recommend.

Choosing a traffic school isn’t quite like choosing a college. After all, you’re only looking at about an 8-hour commitment. But it’s still important that you choose the right traffic school so that you can get your citation dismissed from your driving record.

If you’re eligible to attend traffic school, the court and the DMV will provide you with a list of approved traffic schools in your state.  Once you’ve perused the list of approved traffic schools, you’ll need to decide which type of school is best for you.

Remember, you will have to pass a written test in order to pass traffic school, so make sure you choose the best learning environment for you so that you don’t fail your test. If you learn better being taught by a teacher in a classroom, then choose an in-person traffic school. If you’re fine learning on your own and would prefer the convenience of the Internet, then choose an online traffic school.

And finally, take a few moments and search around for what other people say about the school or schools you’re interested in. If a particular school receives a lot of negative feedback, you might want to consider another school.

Once you’ve attended traffic school and want to make sure the citation has been removed from your driving record, order your driving record online. You can also order your driving record at the DMV, but ordering online is faster and more convenient.
