How long ago did your drivers license expire? That determines what you must do to get your license renewal.

NV Expired License: 30 or Fewer Days

You may renew by mail (if you were eligible before your license expired) or you can renew at a DMV office. Just bring your expired license as proof of identity. Besides the $22 renewal fee, you must also pay the $10 late fee.

NV Expired License: 31 - 364 Days

You must renew in person. Bring your expired license and payment for the $22 renewal fee and $10 late fee.

NV Expired License: 365 or More Days

Take your expired license with you to the DMV office to renew. You probably will need to take the vision, written, and driving license test again.

Important Notes

No matter when your Nevada driver license expired, your testing and documentation requirements may differ from the scenarios outlined above depending on your situation.

Don’t drive with an expired license. Doing so could mean a traffic ticket and a hefty fine, even if your drivers license just expired.
