Visit your local DMV office with:

- Payment for the $50 driver license fee.
You'll have 30 minutes to complete the written test and must answer at least 16 correctly to pass. To prepare, study the state's drivers manual. All questions are based on information explained in the manual, including night driving, speed management and road sign identification. You can obtain a hardcopy from any DMV office, or by downloading from the DMV website.
Next, take at least one online practice test. These exams mirror the actual test, providing valuable insight on what to expect.
Pass these two tests and you'll then need to take a license test. When you arrive for the skills test, be sure to have:
- Proper identification.
- A working vehicle with proof of registration and inspection.
