OR Driver License Fees

The license fees for a non-commercial Oregon drivers license are as follows:

  • $60 original application fee.
  • $5 written license test fee.
  • $9 driving test fee.
All payments must be made in cash or check form, payable to the OR DMV. For your convenience, many DMV locations have onsite ATM machines.

Renewal Fee


You can renew your Oregon license within one year of the expiration date for the renewal fee of $40. After your license has been expired for more than one year, the original application fees apply.

Replacement Fee


If you lose your license, or if it is damaged or stolen, you can obtain a new drivers license for the replacement fee of $26.50.

Testing for Transfers or Expired Licenses


If you have a valid out-of-state license, or a license that has been expired for less than one year, you are not required to take the written or driving test. All applicants for an Oregon drivers license must pass a vision test.
