How do I calculate tax title and license?
Tax title and license prices depend on where you live. The tax amount is usually a combination of the sales tax where you live, not where you purchased the vehicle; the state tax; and the car sale’s price. The car title price varies widely from state to state, and can vary from as little as $4 to more than $80.
Many states now have online calculators to give you an idea of the total cost. If yours doesn't, call the motor vehicle department, give them your figures, and ask for an estimate.
