Review Vehicle History Report

To check to see if a used car was once used as a police car, you should review a vehicle history report. Vehicle history reports contain all kinds of information about the history of a used car, including previous owners, and much of the information has been compiled by state DMVs.

If a used car was once used as a police car, that information will appear on a vehicle history report. You might wonder why it’s a good idea to know if a used car was once used as a police car. Simply put, police cars are beaten up pretty badly. After all, they’re driven for thousands of miles around city streets and used to chase down criminals and respond to emergencies. Even though they’re well maintained, the wear and tear on police cars is severe, and usually you can expect police cars to have a shorter life span than other used cars.

Police cars usually have a lower resale value than other used cars. It’s a good idea for you to find out if a used car was ever used as a police car before you buy it. To do so, order a vehicle history report. Ordering a vehicle history report online is the fastest and most convenient way to ensure you get the information you need.

I think, one way to check if the car was used by have a background information about the car. If you don't do it, you cannot assure it's new or it can cause you to warrant of arrest.
