How to Get a Duplicate Arizona Vehicle Registration Card

Duplicate Arizona (AZ) vehicle registration cards are obtained through the Motor Vehicles Division (MVD) or their third-party vendors. A list of approved MVD third-party vendors is located at the MVD services website.

Contact the MVD to get a duplicate car registration card if your original card is lost or damaged. If you suspect that your AZ vehicle registration card was stolen, report the suspicion to the local police as soon as possible.

To complete the duplicate register car process, provide the MVD or approved third-party vendor with:

  • Your first and last names.
  • Your street mailing address (including city, state, and zip code).
  • The vehicle license plate number.
Give the clerk at the MVD or third-party office a valid photo identification card (i.e. driver’s license, United States passport) should you apply for your duplicate registration in person. Pay the registration fee so that you can receive your duplicate registration.
