How do I replace a lost title or a damaged car title in AR? Arkansas
Getting an Arkansas duplicate title can get a bit complicated, especially if there's a lien involved. But, here's the basic process.
Bring the vehicle's license plate number, title number, vehicle identification number (VIN), or car registration certificate with you.
The replacement title costs $5, and you should expect at least a three-week wait before receiving the title through the mail.

Rush titles are issued within three-to-five business days. If there's a lien on your title, you can't apply for a rush title.
If there's a lien on the title, the lienholder must complete a lien release form (available on the DFA site). The duplicate title will be sent to the lienholder, not to you.
Now, if a lienholder is listed on the title but you've paid off the lien, you must prove it by submitting a lien release letter. Or, the DFA can contact the lienholder listed on the title. If the lienholder doesn't respond within 10 business days or declares the lien has been fulfilled, the replacement title will be issued to you.
