Replacing a lost or damaged vehicle registration is one of the simpler BMV tasks.

Registration Replacement Process

Just go a license branch with proper identification, such as a drivers license or state ID card, along with the license plate number, title, or the vehicle identification number (VIN).

Then, complete the replacement car registration form, pay the $6 duplicate registration fee, and that's it. Your replacement registration expires at the same time your old registration expired.

You may also be able to complete this process online through the BMV site. Just sign up for a myBMV account and follow the instructions provided.
