How to Apply for a Duplicate License Plate or Stickers

It's simple to replace your Indiana license plates or car registration stickers; just follow these instructions.

  1. Go to a IN BMV license plate office.
  2. Bring along acceptable personal identification (such as a drivers license).
  3. Complete the duplicate plate/stickers form.
  4. Pay the $10 replacement fee for your stickers or plates.
Your replacement license plates and stickers will expire when your current vehicle registration expires.

Stolen Plates?

Before doing the above, take the duplicate form to a police station and have a law enforcement officer complete the upper portion of the form. Then, take the form to the BMV branch, and follow the rest of the steps listed.
