In the state of Louisiana, an emissions and smog check is incorporated in the routine vehicle inspection. It is not required to present proof of passing an inspection for initial vehicle registration, but proof of inspection is part of the required paperwork for registration renewal.

Inspection Schedule
When you register your car for the first time, you will be placed on an inspection schedule depending on the vehicle’s make and model. Larger vehicles, such as sports utility vehicles, typically require more frequent inspections than smaller passenger cars.Smog Concerns

Inspection and Register Car Fees
