MT Personalized Plates, Vanity Plates and License Plates
Before submitting an application for a custom license plate, you must decide on a personalized plate number. To increase the chances of your submission being accepted (all applications are reviewed by the MVD), be keenly aware of the following restrictions:- License plate number must have a minimum of two characters, but no more than eight.
- It must consist of letters or numbers, or any combination of letters and numbers.
- The MVD will reject any submission it deems as offensive or in poor taste.
- The MVD will not issue a license plate number already in use.
- Complete a personalized license plate application, provided by the county treasurer.
- Pay $25 custom license plate fee, in addition to other registration charges.
