In addition to the safety inspection, basically all gasoline-powered cars made after 1995 that weigh less than 8501 pounds must pass an annual emissions test. For light-duty diesel passenger vehicles, it's after 1996.Again, the testing must be completed within 10 days of the registration.

The tests can be conducted at one of the dozens of state-approved inspection stations scattered throughout New Hampshire. Motorists can usually have both the smog check and the safety check completed on the same visit.Inspection Fees
