Vehicle Registration
If you live in an area that requires an emissions inspection, you must present of passing an inspection to register your vehicle. You must also present the following documents and fees:- Your registration renewal notice, or a completed Application for Registration.
- Proof of vehicle insurance.
- The applicable registration fee ($86 register car renewal fee or $172 first-time registration fee) in the form of cash, a personal check, or money order.
You can renew your registration online, by mail, or in person at a local DMV branch. The DMV website provides a complete of DMV locations. Visit the Registration Renewal page of the DMV website to renew online.
