Obtaining Duplicate Vehicle Registration in OR

In the state of Oregon, it is illegal to drive or park on public roads without a current car registration certificate. If you have lost your registration certificate, or if it has become damaged, you can apply for a duplicate certificate by mail or in person.

Apply by Mail


Mail the following to DMV headquarters:

  • Completed Application for Registration, available for download on the DMV website.
  • $5 register car replacement fee, in the form of a personal check or money order. The DMV does not accept cash payments through the mail.
