If your car registration certificate goes missing, you'll need to act fast on applying for a replacement. Tennessee law requires all drivers to carry proof of vehicle registration when behind the wheel. Otherwise, if stopped by the police you may be ticketed, regardless if the DOR has your vehicle on record as being legitimately registered.
