How do I replace a lost title or a damaged car title in TN? Tennessee
If you discover that your car title is lost, or has been inadvertently destroyed, it's in your best interest to replace now rather than later.
Even if you're months or years away from selling, donating, or trading your vehicle in, its always wise to have the title in your possession. Because then when the time does come to get rid of the vehicle, you'll eliminate any possible hiccups in the title transfer process.
NOTE: If you need your car title immediately, apply in person with the DOR at:
44 Vantage Way
Suite 160
Nashville, TN 37243
Applying directly with the DOR, as compared to your county clerk, will trim the duplicate title fee to $5.50.
