- Documents that prove you are a VA resident (i.e. payroll check stub, current bank statement).
- Vehicle registration and title.
- Record the motor vehicle’s odometer reading in the assignment section of the title (complete Form VSA 5) if the title does not have an assignment section.
- Buyer and seller write their first and last names and street mailing addresses on the title.

Obtain a Vehicle History Report
A vehicle history report (VHR) will provide you with the complete vehicle history of the used car you’re buying or selling. A VHR is helpful to buyers because it shows them exactly what they’re getting into, but it’s also helpful to sellers because by providing the buyer with a VHR, the seller is showing he or she is confident in the vehicle being sold.Post Comment for "How do I complete a title transfer in Virginia?"
