If available (and approved), your license plate should arrive in the mail in four to six weeks. Once you get it, return your current or temporary plate to the DMV.
Order WV Personalized Plates and Vanity Plates
To order a personalized plate or vanity plate for your regular passenger vehicle or motorcycle:- Print and complete Form DMV-42-TR. This form shows you all the background options and tells you how many characters you can choose based on the background you want, as well as provides a detailed list of instructions.
- Write a check or money order for the applicable custom license plate fee. Fees range from $45 to $70, depending on the custom plate you want (complete fee information is included on the application).
