Registering your car in Wyoming is a simple process; here's what to do.

WY Vehicle Registration Process

You must go to your county treasurer's office to apply for your registration (titling is performed at the county clerk's office).

Bring your properly assigned title, proof of car insurance, some form of acceptable identification (such as your drivers license or state ID card), the bill of sale (if applicable), payment for the sales tax (if applicable), and the registration fees. Keep in mind that registration fees vary by county.

If you're from relocating from out-of-state, your car will need to have a vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection completed, too. And, bring your car's current registration to the county clerk's office.

WY Smog Check/Emissions Testing

The state doesn't have any sort of smog or emissions inspection, so you don't need to contend with this before you register your car or renew its registration.
