WY Smog Check...Really?

The state doesn't impose any sort of emissions testing or smog check. In fact, Wyoming is blessed with some of the cleanest, freshest air in the country.

That being said, smog is still a concern for many of the state's residents, who want Wyoming to continue to enjoy pristine air for future generations. And, these folks are doing the best they can to preserve the air quality by driving low-impact vehicles, keeping their cars in good operating condition, reducing the amount of trips they make, and taking other environmentally friendly actions.

But, getting back to your question, you don't have to worry about an emissions inspection for car registration – at least for the time being.

I would guess that if you took a per capita look at pollution from vehicles in the state of Wyoming, it would be greater than many other states. There are so many huge diesel trucks that have the entire emissions control systems removed from their vehicles.
